I love country music, but I agree about feeling more stupid the more I listen. Especially some of the very popular new songs with lyrics like:

I believe that gas is too damn high
Ain't nothin' more American than Mama's apple pie
I believe in love, I believe in peace
But I don't believe we'll ever see it in the Middle East
I believe the Bible is cold hard fact
And I believe that Jesus is coming back
Before she does

Ugh-- disgusting.

I gotta look into this athiest guy! Thanks!

[...] Five years ago I underwent LASIK eye surgery to correct my short-sightedness. I reported at the time that it had been a complete success, and I’m not going to change that opinion now. In fact it has possibly gotten even better. [...]

I cant believe how much they effect our lifes yet the slightest thing we do that has connections with their stupid religion someone really suffers for it. We need to start killing some Muslims for selling drugs, credit card fraud etc I personally know some. Lets behead them!

Come on am up for it. Sick bastards following religions written by men who wanted to control and brainwashed people who are still naive and have the minds of cavemen.

Hey O -
I must agree with you here. I'm a mother of 3 kids under 10 & I don't even leave them in my car to run into a dry cleaner!! I wouldn't leave my kids in a hotel/apartment room alone were I in another room across the hall.

It is so very sad. I think that as time passes more criticism will be raised. It just may be too soon and a little too rough to start jabbing at parents who may never see their baby again.

However, I am a little disturbed by the official website which outlines the parents' daily activities in Portugal. The parents seem to be continuing their "holiday" with the twins amidst the search. Perhaps that's for the sake of the toddlers, but really... they're toddlers!!

I can't say exactly what I'd do under a similar stressful situation. But more than likely than not, I'd have to be checked into a hospital for awhile.

Certainly, I'd be unable to go to the pool or playroom with my other children. I'd be unable to take a daily run. I don't think I'd have much enjoyable "family time" or family dinners.

I'd be taking heavy anti-anxiety meds for sure. But everybody's different. Maybe the parents are denying their grief for as long as possible. I just don't think I could manage as well as they seem to be.

Had this tragic event occurred in the US, the parents would be under much more scrutiny.

Whether that's good or bad, I don't know.

I hope Madeleine is found alive & well. Even though I'm far away from that situation, I still look at the pupils of every unfamiliar little girl's face I come across.

And perhaps that's the very reason no one's turned focus on to the parents. We're all still looking for that baby's eyes.
